Born in France, in an artistic family  I was interested in painting and music.

I studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Appliqués in Paris and graduated as interieur architect and designer.

After a few years working in India with architects building temples, shrines, I worked later in the perfume industrie. I started paintings seriously in Aix en Provence above the atelier of Cezanne.

Creativity comes often after a keen observation of the world around us. I paint the mysteries of our mind and uses its unic capacity of interpretation in a composition.

Art History belongs to all mankind and diversity is necessary for a beter world.   Vulnerability is a recuring theme in my work. Art in a social democratic setting is essential to our freedom.

Laque / varnish is an old technic ( the oldest lacked objects found in Japan are about 6000 years old) The laque/varnish was used in Europa in the 17th century when japanese art became fashionable. The laque is coloured with pigments and applyed in nummerous thin layers, between each layer the panel is polished and laqued again so that the end result has a rich deep and shinning visual effect.

I have learned this technique 40 years ago from my stepfather Maurice Debois who was a professional laqueur and graveur.
